SURF CLUB PROGRAM
Summer program of Surf Club events
Nippers Program - Ages 6 – 13
From December 2016 to February 2017 - mornings
Nipper sessions run over the summer with the goal to teach youngsters skills in beach and surf safety as well as in the various surf and beach events. The goal is to have fun while learning how to become a junior surf life saver.
Weekly summer sessions
The Port Fairy Surf Life Saving Club has a training program that improves the fitness, surf lifesaving, leadership and surf competition skills of our teenagers. The goal is to train our future lifesavers and equip them with the skills needed to have fun in surf sports as well as to compete in various SLS championships.
Shipwreck Coast Swim Series - Ages over 12 years
Monday January 2 2017 - 11 am start
Our Moyneyana ocean swim is part of the Shipwreck Coast swim series with events also being held at Port Campbell and Warrnambool over the summer.
We run 2 swims in the protected waters of Port Fairy Bay with the main event being over 1.2km followed by a 500m ocean swim which is an ideal introduction to ocean swimming. Medallions and spot prizes are awarded. Registration online at www.pcslsc.org.au or on the day from 10am at the surf club. Excellent spectator viewing from the Club house and Charlies on East café. New Years Day Duck Derby
1 January 2017 2.30 pm. start
This ‘not to be missed spectacle is held every New Years Day at the Moyne river wharf in Port Fairy and is one of our main club fundraisers for the year. The picturesque setting provides a great atmosphere as the flotilla of ducks 'race' down the Moyne river and vie to be the first across the line. There are great prizes for participants wuth tickets available prior to the event at he wharf and also in the main street of Port Fairy
