Patrons at the Cafe observe an interesting event - archive

Many patrons at the café observed an interesting event in front of the Port Fairy Surf Life Saving Club building at the Eastern beach last Saturday. The Club was holding its first life saving proficiency test for the season. These tests are carried out early in the season by Life Saving Australia to ensure all patrolling members are “up to scratch” with their life saving skills. The examinations included: resuscitation and first aid skills, surf rescue, bronze medallion, inflatable rescue boat skills. The examinations were strenuous and took all Sunday to complete.

Those who attended this first examination for the season were: Peter Hill, Catherine Hetherington, Scott Hetherington, Jake Hetherington, Rebekah Moroney, Sarah Moroney, Greg Dalton, Tania Dalton, Dean Dwyer, Nicole Dwyer, Helen Finnigan, Don Stewart, Meg Balmer, Darcy Chandler, Leonie Boyd, Jemmah Lynch, Bob Beekhof, Neville Farley, Brooke Green, Sam Murrihy, Chelsea Parker, and Howard Sharp.

The photo shows some of these members. The examiners are in the light blue Life Saving shirts. They are Rebel Noter, Andy Murrell, and Katrina Antony.
