Working with Children

From 1 July 2009 all persons over 18 years of age who work with children must comply with the "Working with Children Act 2005". This is especially important for all persons, helpers, etc., assisting with the Nippers' programme.

Further, all active members of life saving clubs in Victoria over 18 years of age must have a valid WWCC before the start of the season. This will be part of the membership renewal procedure. Application for a WWCC is made and submitted at the post office. For volunteers there is no charge. All members are urged to apply as soon as possible as the WWCC number is entered on the Club membership renewal form. The legal ramifications for breaches of the Act severe.
